I’m in Gainesville, FL, home of the University of Florida, but more importantly it is a change in geography and lifestyle. These changes allow for the best part of travel: exploration and the ability to see an area with curiosity and new eyes. During and earlier trip, we passed an old graveyard in Archer, FL which is between inland Gainesville and the town of Cedar Key on the Gulf of Mexico. A huge headstone faced the road–and the red guitar on its front marked the final resting place of seminal rock musician Bo Diddley. With some more research, my country exploration and the resulting find will translate into a longer post in the More Stories part of this blog. Now I’m off to do more and exploration among the live oaks, Spanish moss and old cemeteries. Just the thing for the holidays.
