This is a letter to a young friend. The doll shot below is an approximation of his cuteness.
Hi, Sebastian April 23, 2016
Mr. B. suggested I write you concerning my thoughts on Prince’s untimely demise. His exact words were: “Why you don’t write Sebastian about Prince? I’m sure he’s (italics mine) interested.”
So here I am. Please have your Dad show you the YouTube video of Prince’s 2007 halftime show. Without trying to explain the awkward themes of love, loss, and the illusions of redemption and death to a young man less than a year old, perhaps he could outline the musical contributions made by one of the great artists of the 20th century.

I know your Grandma Judy, who is basically feels that Queen was the seminal group during the last half of the century, can add some important background. I missed the disco era because of my rural lifestyle at the time, and Judy was the friend who turned me on to the dance classic, It’s Raining Men (1983) by the Weather Girls. Of course this was around 2001.

As you could see if you could read, our friend Wikipedia lists the song as a dance, female and gay anthem.
On another note, your Uncle Keith is gearing up for the social event of the current Millennium, your baptism. Mainly he’d like to know whether he needs to rent a tux or a suit. I feel it’s my duty to ask you not to spit up on him as you did during your first meeting. Keith didn’t mind. He took it as an expression of affection but I am a little worried about the logistics of getting it cleaned up.
The weather here in Fort Lauderdale is awesome. Maybe you can get in a little beaching while you are down here. Your Mom and Dad are pretty good about sunscreen. Your bald, blue-eyed Teutonic look is always a hit with the ladies on the beach, but not so great when sunburn is involved.
That’s about it. Hope all is well. XXOOO Anne
