Every day, we make choices and every choice is a story. What earrings should I wear? What shoes to take out of the closet or remove from underneath the sofa? The choices and the stories shape our self-images; tell onlookers where we’ve been and what we are going to do today. My jewelry tells stories about me, the maker, and the person chooses to wear it.
Step into my world of making, reading and writing and take a look.
I live in South Florida, an urban area surrounded by and perched upon a very distinctive natural world. I mold metal clay to capture the likeness of leaves and shells. I use bezel settings to capture stones and colorful enamel images. Each process is a learning curve and every time I see someone wearing my jewelry, I learn even more about the stories that appeal to me and to other people.
I have been making jewelry for eight or nine years and I have been reading and writing stories for a lot longer. Techniques in making and writing are elusive and never-ending stories in themselves. I would like to share my jewelry, some of the learning curves and the stories with readers who possibly have a few stories themselves.
