Time to change the clocks, change clothing colors and start thinking about the holidays. That’s a tall order in South Florida where the seasons run together, but when it’s dark in the mornings and late afternoon, warmer colors seem to reflect autumn even in the tropics. These earrings have old (very old as opposed to vintage which starts about 1997) carved Chinese carnelian amulets as a centerpiece with freshwater pearls and a glass butterfly as accents. The handmade ear wires and structural wires are 14/20 gold filled. That’s a high quality gold plate which has a life span of 20-30 years if not mistreated. They are 2.5 inches long and very light weight.

They are lovely. Is that amber?

It’s carnelian. It’s a pretty color for fall–I think you have a lot more of a seasonal change where you live. Earrings are about the only way you can tell tell autumn has arrived here in South FL.
